I think it would be more important to cover Metal than Pop. Pop is relatively easy to cover because its everywhere, and anything described as pop is usually well known, while Metal has a lot of releases constantly coming out, some as obscure as the shit I listen to.

I don't think it's quite so black and white as that. Pop isn't just defined by what's popular anymore (which in context doesn't make any sense, but whatever). Like Rock, you've got a lot of different sub-genres in pop like folk-pop, synth-pop, pop rock, almost all modern R&B music is classified as pop; it's a lot more broad than just Lady Gaga and Katy Perry. Which speaking of, I think some of you guys might be a little biased against the mainstream enough that your opinion wouldn't really be as objective as it should be if you were doing pop.

That said, if you want someone to cover that stuff I'd be down with it. My primary genres are Folk Pop (Lisa Mitchell, Lisa Hannigan, Rachael Yamagata, Lissie), Synth-pop (Ellie Goulding, Lights, La Roux, Little Dragon), and Pop Rock (Michelle Branch, Sara Bareilles, Florence + The Machine, most of my library XD). Or if you want to just put an umbrella on it, Pop, Alternative, and um. Shit, idk about a third.

We're all being moderately specific, so Synth-Pop, Folk Pop, and Pop Rock will suffice.

Edit: Considering stopping entries at 10 and then just having 10 reviewers :/

You point that out a lot more often than I do.

I'm not going to try to be too specific about what genres to cover, but I do have a fair understanding of different genres and sub genres for music.

Metal, Rock, Alternative

I generally listen to almost anything, even music that I don't personally like at least once, because I do like to try to listen to as much different styles of music as I can. So in saying that I am willing to listen to and review almost anything that requires it.

Could you replace my alternative with rap? We don't have a broad enough coverage for that, I think

I don't mind doing rap instead of alternative if you prefer to do that.

Would Alternative Rap be a better category? lol

Wasn't referring to that. But its not that I listen to rap all day, its just that somebody needs to, so I might as well

Metal,

I consider most of the metal you listen to to be Nu Metal. So uh that's probably what you'll be put up as because you're hitting a really, really broad spectrum of music.

Edit: Then elaborate a bit for me, Nitro. Because I believe Erif's sort of got it covered as well because of his fondness for MF Doom, Mos Def, Gift of Gab, and other good rappers.

Is that enough coverage though? I mean, what about the bad rappers? XD

As long as we have enough coverage, its fine by me if I don't change.

Mos Def, Gift of Gab

In Nitro's defense, these two each had a time where Nitro would do nothing but talk about how amazing they were for the entirety of long MSN conversations.

The only reason I'm wondering if I should review rappers is for overall coverage. I guess I won't change, as long as Erif can cover all of it.
