So Panama uses US currency, however we had our own quarters with some other guy's face... however both quarters were useable here ( but I dont think Panama's quarters were useable over there ) and now weve got a new 1 Dollar coin http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=0BX79NV7LPo

how does this affect ECONOMY? discuss.

I dont know. Let the US government debate over it. The US currency is made of cotton and is backed by the government. Pennies have less copper, nickels arent really nickel, just a bunch of cheap metal that has a price tag. We print coins everyday because everybody in the US loses coins in their couches. Dont really think value of dollar is going to change. What its worth in Panama is there business.

BTW Nitro tomorrows tuesday. and why you need candy on wednesday?

I'm a bit miffed that they seem to have a spanish dude on them. I mean, what with all the history of brutality on settling the nation.

I'm not sure they'll have a big economic difference if they're automatically set to be interchangeable with an American dollar.

They look awfully like these.

I like the bear better though C:

A change of currency with similar value wont affect the economy, with much difference. Let's say Panama decides to tank, horribly, so as to Greece, then our currency would take a hit also. It's sort of a domino affect when countries streamline similar currency. It's the same reason why the European Union is in a mess, because of a domino affect that lead to a lot of borrowing, externally, that they could not afford. It started, particularly, within the EU in Greece and is toppling over into Italy. Spain is also hit pretty hard, but then again, globally speaking, the economy is in a mess, especially in North American and Europe...which is a huge problem in the long-run.

Wuts this wait
OHHHHH SHINY!
I LIKE SHINY!

Srsly though... I've seen coins like those before. I don't know shit about Panama's economy but I'm pretty sure the only thing it'll be in the USA is a slight novelty for coin collectors. BTW, I'd be more worried about the contry you're using the currency as a base from.... since we're having monetary issues right now.
I like the shiny though.... did I mention that?
Catman is officially cool now. Get wit it.

I'd like to know why Vasco Nunez de Balboa was chosen as the face of the new coin.
