Practicing my necromancy.

I just read over this thread from the beginning and it's amusing how drastically my taste in music changed in the last 5 years.

Anyway, gonna make a new list, as the last one I posted is well over a year old.

Come As You Are- Crowder

East to West- Wolves at the Gate

Words in the Water- Thrice

I Keep It Composed- We Were Promised Jetpacks

The Last Unicorn- Dan Avidan and Brian Wecht

Hmm updates are a good idea. According to itunes:

1. Girlfriend in a Coma - The Smiths

2. Fascination Street - The Cure

3. Oblivion - Grimes

4. The Killing Moon - Echo and the Bunnymen

5. Once In A Lifetime - Talking Heads

Hmm, I've spent a lot of time in the 80s.

Lately,

This Town Needs Guns - Pig

Invalids - And Was It Worth It In The End?

Badbadnotgood - Flashing Lights

And So I Watch You From Afar - Eunoia/Big Thinks Do Remarkable (technically two songs)

Maps and Atlases - Stories About Ourselves

Looking through my 2010 contribution to this thread, not a WHOLE lot has changed.

3. Oblivion - Grimes

Wow I would I have never have guessed Yosh listens to Grimes, who'da thunk it.

Let's see, I'll go out on a limb here:

All Night Long - Mary Jane Girls: Just fucking catchy. Heard at Chipotle one night and haven't gotten over it yet

Spanish Joint - D'Angelo: Been listening to a lot of D'Angelo lately, his albums satisfy this urge to hear soul/funk that's lacking in the contemporary music scene.

Try A Little Tenderness - Otis Redding: Hey guys I just got hip to Otis Redding. Can't really go wrong with this guy. What I like about him is that he adds this huge bombastic stylistic flair to the usual Motown soul, which is just awesome for me.

You Are Sunshine of My Life - Stevie Wonder: I really love all of his album Talking Book currently, but this seems to be the song I find myself singing to myself all the time: this and the chorus of Tuesday Heartbreak.

Lights On - FKA Twigs: Discovering FKA Twigs has been a bit of a revelation for me, in the sense that she's the first artist that's gotten me to seek out more electronic music. Well, her and Animal Collective I guess, except Animal Collective is more along the lines of experimental and noise. But good shit.

Cooking Up Something Good - Mac Demarco: Guys, go check out Mac Demarco. He's pretty chill.

White Freckles - Ariel Pink: Ariel Pink is such an odd entity and has such a particular sound that I couldn't really single out a song the encapsulated my feelings towards him, so I ended up just picking one from the album I've listened to. Can't really describe him, but he has this authentic, kinda retro vibe that I like. Hoping to see him live soon.

Ysabel's Table Dance - Charles Mingus - Jazz. Yeah.

1) Good Kid- Nomu

2) Sufjan Stevens- Should Have Known Better

3) Etiquette- Island (Soundcloud link, the song is nowhere on Youtube, which I guess is a good indication that I've delved too deep into pretentious hipster territory)

4) Aaron Gillespie- A Love Like Yours (Aaron <3)

5) School of Seven Bells- Open Your Eyes
