I'm kinda bored with Thrice. But that's cause I'm not super music knowledgeable. And there was a long time in high school of borrowing my brother's CD's and listening to those two Thrice CD's way too often. My lack of music knowledge ends up having me overplay a lot of stuff XD

Thrice is and always will be one of my favorite bands of all time.

Limited reprint of Major/Minor on vinyl became available for pre-order in December, can't wait for that to show up.

shit's gonna be good

Although I thought M/M was an excellent album, I think it was pretty clear they weren't at their peak. Should be interesting to see what they'll come up with after a bit of a break.

I'm excited to see where they're going now. The Alchemy Index albums were so all over the place. They've never put out anything I didn't love though.

The beauty of The Alchemy Index albums, for me, was how all over the place it was. But each Volume held a similar style, and it was kinda like they were testing out different fusions and genres and stuff.

Also I'm a little biased, because Vol. 4 Earth has my two of my favorite Thrice songs, Moving Mountains and Come All You Weary.

Major/Minor is probably my favorite album from them in all honesty, but I haven't given Beggars a proper listening to yet.

I'm with you Krevin, I love everything they make.

idk, M/M is a very good album, but I feel like it was their least adventurous since TAITA (and while that's not necessarily a bad thing, it's not what I expected from Thrice). Although the two albums are quite similar, Beggars has a subtle but very unique sound to it that M/M is lacking.

I'd love it if they wrote more material like the Fire EP, which is easily their most technical and intense work (seriously, the 1-2 punch of Firebreather/Messenger followed by The Arsonist is insane and does more for me than most metal albums). But they've clearly moved on, which is cool too.

It's a very personal thing, but to me M/M seemed like the most emotional and passionate album. I realize most people would consider it to be "preachy" what with the sudeen shift to heavy Christian influence, but it seemed like lyrically Dustin did his best writing on M/M.

But quality of lyrics are entirely subjective to personal interpretation, so whatever.

I agree with you on the Fire EP, it'd be nice to hear some more hardcore material on the new album.

Yeah, I don't really care about that shit. Words in the Water is one of my favourite songs, ever, and the influence there is preeeeetty explicit.

Words in the Water IS my favorite song, maybe along with Come All You Weary. Ironically, the two most explicitly Christian songs.

What can I say, Jesus is a rad dude.

You've posted similar comments on every music topic I start.

But you've made a mistake this time.

Thrice isn't even a metal band.

...and i get all annoyed.

Anyway guys I'm gonna go see Fat Babe, Black Hearts in Atlantis, Bullet From My Altoids Can and Spiro Polydakis. I am so stoked for Fifteen Codpieces in July, though.
