Some people listen to video game music exclusively. It's certainly an art appreciated more today than 25 or even 15 years ago, and as gaming technology has reached a point where sound is no longer limited, impressive orchestral compositions and a stronger focus on the audio experience of a game have naturally led to increased competitiveness. Gamers today enjoy many video game soundtracks that not only *can* stand on their own as individual works of art, but *do*.
What are your favorite video game soundtracks?
I'm not one of those people who listens to them a lot, but I do have a few in my library - Final Fantasy Tactics, Shenmue, Chrono Cross, Legend of Mana, Wind Waker, Breath of Fire 3, Persona 3/4, the Phoenix Wright Jazz and Orchestral versions, and the Final Fantasy IV soundtrack in the "Celtic Moon" style, among maybe a few more.
I think the two I like best though are Shadow of the Colossus and Threads of Fate. The first on its own merit, the second admittedly for nostalgia. Check out the Threads of Fate OST: https://www.youtube....h?v=_LzXshelkjA
