by CWII do you mean cold war or civil war? cause people don't die in cold wars, i'd be okay with that.

Elaborate.

Also the democratic caucus is today in Nevada. I was gonna go but I don't think I can deal with that many people. I hope Bernie wins but I honestly don't mind if Hillary takes the primary. Plus I'm technically not a democrat because I don't want to be registered as anything other than independent, even though my viewpoint is pretty much all left-wing.

So Hillary's campaign has taken an interesting turn.

This stuff really frustrates me. I dislike Hillary, she's too eager to please and has no foundation. However, this is just embarassing to the cause of Black Lives Matter. Also, one quick peek at the protester's twitter shows that she's a near delusional Social Justice activist.

Thoughts?

I was also totally unaware that Bernie was met with a similar thing last year

But I think he handled it better than Hillary did. However, neither of these protests are decent IMO.

EDIT: In re-reading this it sounds like I'm totally against the protesters and their cause. That's not what I meant to emphasize. I think that what they have to say is important and needs to be heard. I, personally, have issues with the methods they used. But, as a middle-class white guy, that probably makes me intolerant and part of the problem. I understand less about the whole race relations thing in America than I would like to admit.

Either way, I'm glad that word has gotten out and that someone confronted Hillary on her past, and think it's time that she at least acknowledged the things she's said and done that are directly opposed to what she claims now.

On what grounds are you saying that the protester's twitter makes them appear delusional?

Maybe delusional was the wrong word, but there's a whole lot of big words and labels with very little civil discourse or discussion about what exactly she's for. She seems to be absolutely out there on the front of every social injustice crying opression without leaving any room for healthy communication.

EDIT: Sorry, I shouldn't be using "she". It says right in their twitter bio that they prefer "Them" and "They" pronouns.

This is moreso Twitter being a poor outlet for active discussion. Twitter only gives you 140 characters so it makes sense that somebody would make a quick tweet with vague details that's more just speaking their mind than it is dissect a social issue and opening the floor for commentary. And that last link has literally nothing to do with any of this, they were just looking for a makeup artist that is more aware of their preferences as a nonbinary/genderqueer person. More or less the same logic as saying that, if you want to get a new perscription for glasses, you don't go to the dentist.

This is true. Also a major reason why I dislike "hashtag activism" so much. It rarely gets anything done, and you end up with a lot of people pissed off at something they read on the internet but still refusing to do much about it in the real world.

At least they went out and did something, that's more than most of the other hundreds of thousands who got #whichhillary trending yesterday can say. Which, by the way, was removed from the trending list by Twitter and censored.

the #whichhillary thing was kinda big though. definitely shines some light on hillary's true stance on some big social issues, which is hard to do when she basically controls the media. basically this is something that a lot of hillary supporters don't know about. i get that people change but her entire platform currently is completely contradictory to what she's been all about in the past. and i think the people spreading the #whichhillary tag were doing something, because it got a lot more people talking about it, and made a lot more people aware.

I just hope that it makes it a difference and actually forces her to address it in some way. Which is unlikely from what we've seen so far. She'll just pay off as many people as she can to try and bury it and pretend it didn't happen.

Yeah, Hillary is very much your standard, run-of-the-mill, "corrupt politician" and I really don't see her being apologetic or even acknowledging that she used to completely oppose the things she's for now. She'll just call herself progressive and hope you conclude that she means she's changed.
but I'd still be down to vote for her over any of the right side candidates.
The thing with Hillary vs Bernie is, they both are trying to push for ideas in the direction that I agree with. Hillary is really good at politics, and I think she'll actually be able to get stuff done. Granted, it might not be the best stuff, but she'll be able to make some sort of good change. Bernie is a gamble. His ideologies are nice and if he gets anything done it will be great, but there's so much legislature crap you have to fight through to actually accomplish anything as a president and Bernie's ideas are so out there, that I don't know if he'll actually make any change happen.

I used to hate idealism, but the older I get the more I appreciate it. If no one ever steps out with any ideals, there's never gonna be and significant change. I don't agree with Bernie on all his policies, and neither do I think he's gonna totally reform a country entirely built upon capitalism. But, I just think he's the only current running candidate who could hopefully spark something that will maybe ignite into eventually seeing some major changes.

I watched John Oliver's Last Week Tonight on the US presidential elections, and I guess he kinda just confirmed my beliefs on the whole thing. It'll be a shame if Trump gets elected, but there more people than there should be supporting him, and that's kinda scary. If I was an American, Bernie would be my first choice since he's the closest to my own beliefs, and he's been pretty consistent with his over the years. Also, I'm Canadian and I'm generally happy with the whole Socialism thing. I definitely agree that Bernie will bring in positive changes and keep up the progress that Obama introduced.

On a completely unrelated note, I found out there's a programming language called TrumpScript. Seems difficult at first glance, but I don't really have the time to get into it just yet.

I missed this sig.
