Comments/Effects |
| Armorslayer | Effective against armored units A sub-par weapon best used on armored units. It's a lot like the longsword, though it's a bit better. |
| Brave Sword | Grants two consecutive attacks You only get one of these, but it's really good. It has good stats and it also grants you two consecutive attacks. Though it says 30 uses, it only in truth has 15 uses because each round of attacks uses two uses so use it conservatively. |
| Durandal | Eliwood use only, STR +5, effective against dragons Eliwood's ultimate weapon. It's very powerful, does not deign to grant a critical bonus, grants 5 STR, and butchers his speed to a lesser degree than the Sol Katti does Lyn's. It is a godsend against the final boss if you fight him with the lords, and the dragon won't double him unless he got really screwed for speed. |
| Emblem Blade | You can only get this sword by linking with Mario Kart: Double Dash. It's just an iron sword with 60 uses. | |||||||||
| Iron Blade | Double weapon experience This weapon has amazing might, but suffers everywhere else. It's main use is that it gives you double weapon experience - this means you achieve weapon ranks faster. |
| Iron Sword | The iron sword will be your basic sword everyone uses until around chapter 15 or 16x, when you buy steel swords. It's pretty light and accurate and has a lot of uses, though the steel sword's might advantage is more important. | |||||||||
| Killing Edge | A lightweight sword with might somewhere between that of the iron and steel swords whose main strength lies in a 30% critical bonus. Use it on your swordmasters and units who tend to critical a lot for amazing critical rates. | |||||||||
| Lancereaver | Reverses weapon triangle, double weapon experience This weapon has decent stats, a 5% critical boost, the ability to reverse the weapon triangle, the ability to double the effects of the weapon triangle, and double weapon experience. It's really nice - it's too bad it costs so much and one of them only has 15 uses. |
| Light Brand | Uses light magic at range A sword with decent stats and the ability to attack from a distance. When you attack from a distance, the attack is classified as light magic. Since physical units don't have a MAG stat in FE7, it is substituted by half of your strength. |
| Longsword | Effective against cavalry A basic weapon with sub-par stats and the ability to do triple damage on cavalry. Since you get it for free, you might as well use it, but it's nothing special. |
| Mani Katti | Lyn use only, effective against cavalry and armored units, double weapon experience Lyn's basic unique weapon, received after chapter 2. It has the same qualities as Eliwood's rapier, except it's lighter, more accurate, a bit stronger, and gives more critical bonus. Use it a lot, you get a free one when Lyn reunites with Eliwood and Hector. |
| Poison Sword | Poisons whenever it hits This enemy only weapon seems worthless, but it deals a bunch of damage over time if you don't dodge it, even if it hits for no damage. This effect gets annoying fast if you're fighting other enemies, so avoid these. |
| Rapier | Eliwood use only, effective against cavalry and armored units, double weapon experience Eliwood's basic unique weapon. It's a slightly buffed up iron sword that deals triple damage to cavalry and amored units. It also gives a 5% critical bonus. You get an extra if you're on Eliwood's mode during the chapter you get the Durandal. Don't be too conservative with it - it grants double weapon experience. |
| Regal Blade | The S rank sword. This has insane might, accuracy, and decent weight. Since you only get it in the final chapter though, it won't be getting as much use as would be nice. | |||||||||
| Runesword | Uses dark magic at range, saps HP A more powerful, heavier, and less accurate version of the light brand that uses dark magic from both ranges and saps all of the health it takes from the enemy. You only get it in the second-to-last chapter of Hector's mode, and even then it only has 15 uses and negates critical chances. Meh. |
| Silver Blade | Double weapon experience Just like the steel blade but more powerful with less weight and more accuracy. Again, it gives double weapon experience. Though it's not that important when your weapon level is already A. |
| Silver Sword | A more powerful steel sword with less weight and more accuracy. It's the basic weapon you'll use in the last couple chapters due to its low usage, though you encounter these much earlier. | |||||||||
| Slim Sword | Wow, it's the most accurate and the lightest weapon in the game. And it gives 5 critical to boot. Too bad its might makes it worthless. The only way to attain this sword is by shopping- don't waste your money on it. | |||||||||
| Sol Katti | Lyn use only, RES + 5, effective against dragons, double weapon experience Lyn's ultimate weapon. It's powerful, grants 25% critical bonus, 5 RES, and its weight butchers her speed. Due to this, it's useless in the link arena or against the elite morphs you face before Nergal. However, its bonus against dragons is useful for the final boss, who won't double her if she has decent stats. For some reason, it also give double weapon experience. |
| Steel Blade | Double weapon experience The iron blade, except slightly heavier, less accurate, and more powerful. Like the iron blade as well, it gives double weapon experience. |
| Steel Sword | This will be your basic weapon everyone uses after you chuck those iron swords. Its weight and accuracy aren't the best, but its might is decent and it ends up dealing a fair amount of damage. | |||||||||
| Wind Sword | Uses anima magic at range, effective against flyers A light brand that uses anima magic and deals triple damage to flyers. You only get it from MK:DD. |
| Wo Dao | Myrmidon/Swordmaster/Lyn use only A sort of super killing edge. The Wo Dao gives a bit more critical and accuracy and has less weight, though it has one less might. |
| Wyrmslayer | Effective against dragons This weapon is basically a steel sword that deals triple damage on dragons. You get one in the game, and you might as well use it against the tougher dragon riders or when your other weapons break. |
