Excellent for long range killing. This thing only has 5 uses though and it is pretty hefty so it will slow down your unit quite a bit. You wont use this for close range so it doesnt really matter if you get slowed down and and you wont really need it that much. So great but for the most part unnnecessary.
Elfire
I wouldn't use this unless your magic user is in real need of the extra migth that this provides. Besides the extra might this thing will only slow down your magic user and cost you some money plus limited use. Like I said don't use unless you are in real need.
Excalibur
What can I say? A Sacred Twin Relic. This thing is excellent and very powerful. It is a bit hefty but thats okay because whoever has it equipped gets +5 speed. Excellent but dont waste it because you only get one so dont use it against regular enemies and save it for the last few chapters.
Fimbulvetr
This is alot of bad and a little good. The good is its strong and you get one free in chapter 17. The bad is its heavy, it slows down your unit, it has limited uses, and if you buy it it is really expensive. So like with Elfire dont use unless you have to.
Fire
This is the basic Anima tome and you will probably want to stick with it or Thunder for the rest of the game since some of the other tomes slow down Magic users a bit because of their low CON.
Thunder
This Anima tome gives up a bit of accuracy for some critical an extra might. I personally like Thunder better because it's stronger has some critical% and it looks really cool when a Mage Knight performs a critical with it.

I don’t like this tome but it’s not as bad Divine. I mean that in the way that its weight and might aren’t as bad as Divine's. But it still has limited usage, and high price. Its critical is 15% bonus which is pretty good but not good enough. I stand by what I said about sticking with Shine for your Light Tome needs.
Divine
To me this is absolutely useless. It weighs too much and it’s not all that much powerful than Shine. Beside that it’s expensive and has limited usage. The only thing that might have redeemed it would have been the 10% critical bonus but even that’s not enough to redeem it. Unless you are looking to make your game more challenging, stay away from this because that is all it will do.
Ivaldi
A Sacred Twin Tome. This thing will give you a +5 defense boost which is excellent considering magic users, especially light magic users, tend to have poor defense. Nothing bad to say about this thing and this is the only light tome that has more might then weight. Like with all Sacred weapons don’t waste.
Lightning
The basic Light tome. It’s weak but compared to other Light tomes it’s not very heavy which is a good thing since light users usually have low CON. The 5% critical bonus is good since normal hits won’t do too much damage but I don’t think it is enough to compensate how weak it is. I prefer Shine. Use only if your user doesn’t have enough to handle Shine well.
Purge
This is a great light tome. For a long range magic tome, its accuracy is pretty high and its power doesn’t suffer too much. It also has the same weight as Bolting but like Bolting this thing isn’t really needed. Plus like the rest of the long range tomes its usage is 5 and is pretty heavy but like I said this is not needed so it shouldn’t be a problem.
Shine
A more powerful light tome. It’s very good and I prefer it to Lightning because it can deal more damage and has a higher critical% bonus. Sure it is more expensive and weighs a little more and has less uses but money shouldn’t be a problem if you stop at an arena a couple of times and its weight shouldn’t be a problem if your user has decent speed. As for the low usage most good tomes do so I would recommend you to stick with this.

Eclipse
This thing halves the enemy HP but it does have a low Hit% so whoever uses this has to have a lot of skill if the attack is to hit. Great for weakening a boss or strong enemy before moving in for the kill.
Fenrir
:I really woulnt use this because of of a few reasons:it has low usage, it weighs a lot, and its not really that stong for it to weigh 18. There are really no other choices besides Flux and this for regular dark magic without added effects and stuff so you decide.
Flux
This thing gets the most usage out of any magic tome and is not too heavy or too weak. Unfortunately you dont have too many people that can(without glitches) use dark magic tomes so yeah.
Gleipnir
A Sacred Twin Tome. This thing give you skill+5and is really powerful. It is a bit hefty but all the best weapons and tomes are. Like with other Sacred weapons and tomes dont waste it and save it for the final chapters.
Luna
A great dark magic tome.It negates enemy resistance so your magic is the amount of damage you will do directly. Anybody who use this will have to have a decent amount of skill so they can actually land the attack. Good skill combined with high magic and the weapons 10% critical=major damage.
Naglfar
This is a weapon that weighs a lot but packs quite a punch. Unfortunately you have to get Lyon to get one of these and thats all there is. If you want to get more usage out of it you have to Hammerne it.
Nosferatu
This thing will suck up whatever damage you do to your opponent and add it to your HP so its basically a heal staff that does damage and recovers you at the same time. Keep one of these on your dark magic users for when they take damage.
